“Flaco Over the Rainbow Bridge” Original Owl Illustration, Framed

- Description
“Flaco Over the Rainbow Bridge”
You may have heard about Flaco, the Eurasian eagle owl who escaped the Central Park zoo in 2023 and couldn’t be retrieved. He spent a year fending for himself in Central Park, quite successfully. Unfortunately, this beautiful creature met his demise when he crashed into a building, a danger that many birds face. Researchers also suspect Flaco may have ingested rat poison through eating a rodent which consumed it. Rat poison is another huge problem for predatory birds. I encourage you to avoid using it at all costs for this reason.
Flaco was a beloved animal for New Yorkers and animal lovers alike. He will be greatly missed. I created this colorful and whimsical portrait of Flaco as an experiment for fun with watercolor markers and felt tipped pen. I imagine Flaco in technicolor, living his owl dreams.
