Happy New Year!

01-11-09

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that the first couple of weeks of the year have been treating you all well. I've been busy myself, ramping up my Etsy store some more, cleaning up my art/craft room, and preparing to settle down for a productive winter. We've already been snowed in several times, which while a pain when I have to drive to work, has been really nice on days when I want to get things accomplished at home.

When I last updated, we were about to purchase our first home. Since closing in March last year, I've been extremely happy in my new home! The space, the land, the feel of it all is perfect for nuturing creativity. I have a very large art and craft room which is perfect for making everyhing I love to make. We also are blessed with a wonderfully large master bedroom with beautiful wood walls and ceiling. It has become about 30% bedroom and 70% music studio. Much of last year was spent with painting, home improvements and other general first-time house things. Now that a lot of that is out of the way, I'm ready to make the most of our wonderful place.

Now, on to the good stuff. This is the part where I plug my wares. *wink wink* I've been adding lots of new things to my Weyakin Designs Etsy Store, which I encourage you to browse. I'm really enjoying the Etsy community and all it has to offer for both buying and selling. It's a great community-oriented place for small crafters like me to get their stuff out there.

Following this news update, I will be adding new images to my gallery. Take a look and let me know what you think! Thanks for your continued support!

It's been a while...

02-17-08

I realize I've managed to neglect my website much more than I should have! Though, I've been quite busy over the past 9 months. There have been many changes for the better in my life and I'm happy to share them here.

In May of 2007, I was accepted as as full-time web design for Tortus Technologies in West Springfield, MA. I have now been there for over 8 months and I love my job! I haven't been doing as much freelance web work because of it, but I enjoy the work I'm doing with Tortus every day. Because I spend so much time making web sites 40 hours a week, now when I have extra time, I prefer to focus more on my hands-on projects, including sewing, crafting, jewelry making and painting. This is one explanation for my lack of attention to my web site here. However, I'd like to change that and keep up more in the future and share with you what I've been creating.

In other exciting news, my fiancé and I are in the process of buying a house. We're in the final stages and closing is coming up real soon! I'm very excited to move to our new location. Its space and wooded location is a great environment for nursing creativity. We hope to have many wonderful projects be born in our new home, visual and musical.

And lastly, the Weyakin Designs store will really be coming soon! I'm working on putting together the pages to buy through PayPal off of this site. But, in the mean time, I've created an Etsy Store for your shopping pleasure. There are only a few items there now, but definitely more to come in the future. Stay tuned for all sorts of fun Weyakin Designs hand-made items for sale!

This is where it starts...

04-05-07

Welcome to the beginning of the new Weyakin Designs! The past several months have been spent creating and preparing this site to finally be launched after a year and a half of putting it off. With grandios ideas and being somewhat of a perfectionist the idea of doing what I really wanted to do was a large task. But now, I've finally done it! As I often tend to make things more difficult than they actually need to be, I decided to incorporate several ideas into the design of this site. You may recognize the costume in the image to the left if you take a look in the clothing and costume design and craft section of the gallery. That costume was created specifically for this site. A rather odd and round about way of creating a website, but I like to make things interesting.

Keep in mind that currently, there are still some things to be added to the site. These will be coming in the near future!

From here, you'll find me continually updating the various sections of the gallery. On the right you'll see the most recent work added to the gallery. You can also find the most recent piece in each gallery section in the recent work area. Be looking for new products as I continually add to my selection of fun and beautiful things to buy in the shop! I hope you enjoy what you see here. If you would like to leave me feedback, freel free to contact me and let me know what you think. Thanks for your support!
