Site Update

I know it’s been a while since I updated this section of the site. The NEW news is that I’ve updated a bunch of things in the Portfolio Gallery section of the website! I have added 9 new website designs, a new book cover design, two new logos and the one I am most proud of, a new watercolor painting titled “Midnight Moon Garden”. So, take a look and if you want, visit me on Facebook and let me know what you think!
I’m also excited to be hanging some of my art at a private event in Easthampton, MA this weekend. I’ll be showing my paintings and digital art along with my good friend, Christopher Gendron of ARTMuffin. It should be a fun time!

Handmade With Love Craft & Gift Market

I’m happy to announce that Weyakin Designs has been accepted to the Handmade With Love Craft & Gift Market on Saturday, February 12th, 2011. This great local handmade event will take place in the Eastworks building of Easthampton, MA. It coincides with the Easthampton Art Walk and artist open studios in the building and town. The craft event takes place from 10:00am to 5:30pm, just in time to come do some Valentine’s Day shopping, followed by a fun night of art! FREE admission!

Twitter and Presentation!

A new year and new things happening! I hope you all are having a wonderful new year so far. Just two things I wanted to update you on. First, I’ve finally joined the world of Twitter! Secondly, in just a couple of weeks, I’ll be doing a presentation with a friend and colleague, Daniel Lieberman for the organization SCORE. SCORE is a national non-profit with a Western Mass chapter which is dedicated to helping small businesses and entrepreneurs with counseling and workshops. On February 5th, 2011 at 9:00 am, Daniel and I will be doing a presentation on how to get your business on the web, covering the basics about websites and social media. To sign up, follow this link. Handmade Raffle

I’ve been quite busy with the handmade end of things this month, as it is now the holiday season. I was lucky to participate in the Bizarrest Little Snowflake Bazaar this past weekend. What a great event and wonderful crowd! It look place in Amherst’s Unitarian Meetinghouse, which is a cozy little venue. We also had the pleasure of hearing three groups of musicians all day, which was a wonderful addition. There were lots of smiling faces shopping for local, handmade holiday gifts for their friends and family. Thanks to Karen Ducey of Moon and Sundries for putting on this fantastic event! I can’t wait for next year.
And speaking of handmade… I have a new contest open on my Facebook page. Once I get 270 “likes”, I’ll have a randomly drawn raffle. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to my Etsy shop! New Website

Weyakin Designs very recently received a re-vamp. After a server crash which resulted in some lost data that had not yet been backed up, I decided now was the perfect time to re-vamp and update my site. I first created the last design in early 2007. I figured, it’s about time for a facelift with some reorganization.
This new site is a custom design built on a WordPress platform. I’ve become quite fond of using WordPress as a content management system (CMS) and have found it quite useful for my clients. I figured, why not use it myself? This new site includes the blog right in the site (not externally) and some things that will just make it easier for me to update more regularly. I’m excited about the new functionality changes.
