Contest and New Blog Series

Hi Everyone! I admit it, my blog has been slow moving. It’s hard to keep up with everything and still have time in the day to sit down and write something. But, there is a new series of blog posts I’m excited about putting together. A weekly illustration project that I want your help with.

Each week, I will write a small piece and create an illustration to go with it, based on a particular topic. I’m looking for YOUR topics to illustrate! It can be anything from current day issues to mythical subjects to fun things like gardening or dancing. Give me a subject. Try to keep it to one word or short phrase.

Now, here’s the fun part! For everyone who submits a topic, you will be entered into a contest. I will randomly draw from the participants to pick a winner. The winner will receive a free matted art print of their choice from my existing work available in print form. I’ll contact the winner to let you know what the choices are and to get your contact info so I can mail it to you.

Ready to come up with some fun topics to be illustrated? Leave your comment on this blog to participate. Ready…set…GO!

Contest ends November 6th, 2011.

  1. I love this idea! I would love to see what you create for “empowered women”. :)

  2. Love your work. Pets are always good subject matter. People do love their pets. Have you noticed that people and their pets often do look alike? :-)

I have a nine year old son & 4 year old daughter… so a portrait of a mother & her children would be nice to see.
(My sister also has an older son (13) younger daughter (10) combination)
    ~ Thanks for asking!

  9. Hi Vicki!
I know this is very late, but this came up from two different friends over the past two days and you’re the perfect person to illustrate this – “woman crying under a hot shower”. Can you just picture her head against the wall, letting it all out, waiting for inspiration to return?

      That’s okay! I still haven’t picked a winner, so shhhh… I’ll let you squeak in. ;-)

Thank you for the suggestion! That’s definitely a moment I’ve had myself.
